Shimmaré

The Shimmaré is the inland sea cut off from the Kevoc Ocean along the southwestern shore of the Makrinos. While a saltwater body, the flowing of the Halmyros into it from the northwest and the other smaller rivers on its northeastern shore has diluted it creating a unique ecosystem of a variety of freshwater and saltwater fish that have acclimated to it. During high tide, portions of the strip of land separating the Shimmaré from the ocean are flooded enough to allow for ship passage between them for careful and knowledgeable pilots. Otherwise, the Seaton Channel is the only direct way between them.
